This album is based around the idea of us being raised by television broadcast. . . . Being left alone to be influenced and manipulated by commercialism. When the T.V. takes place of parental influence and digs its hooks into our minds. This album represents the psychological abuse we endure as we are stripped of all self identifying traits, molded into the image someone else wants, losing yourself and becoming another lost soul in a society obsessed with consumerism and greed.
The work is based entirely around commercials from multiple sources and is recontexualized and reconstructured to shed light on the dark underlying tones that lie beneath . A representation to the true nature of commercial broadcasting. The mental paralysis and the overwhelming load it bears on us....
The album is meant to be unsettling, creating a sense of comfort that evolves into more disturbing undertones and slowly creates a tense emotion in the listener. The final song "You've Lost Yourself" evolving into an overwhelming back lash that is almost too much for the listener to handle.
It is an album that is more of a modality than it is a musical working and something that requires you to leave all preconceived notions to sound design at the door.
